12 cell packs
« on: July 19, 2018, 12:34:19 AM »
I seem to have aquired a 700 heli so need 12s packs.
Before I blow a stack on crap, can someone recommend a decent brand that is reasonably priced, and where best to get them.
They won't be getting hammered as I don't fly that well / hard, so something where I can get say 3 packs without braking the bank.

Cheers!

For reasonable priced packs i would recommend HRB. I took a punt on them earlier this year as they were a relative newcomer to the market and was able to get 2x 6S 5000mah for £70 for the pair. Thought it was worth the risk considering Optipower had increased in price to £130 per pack.
They are slightly larger and heavier than the opti, but give good power and can handle the demands of the Protos which routinely sees over 160amps in flight. I was that impressed that i went and bought another two of them. I would need to check but i think they are now about the cycle mark each and still going well. The prices are increasing on them but the best price i can find them for now is £100 for the pair.

More to the point what 700 did you buy? I assume another goblin for your fleet.

Cheers Andy, Iíll take a punt on these to as that does seem a reasonable price.
One of those ebay madness moments when you bid on a couple of things and land up winning!
So a goblin 700 that has come with everything except a flight controller and also a Protos 770 evo but thatís just the bare frame.
So letís hope they spend more time in the air than the rest of them  :o.

A long dull nightshift offshore purchase you mean?

Another good point about HRB is that they will sell them with the connectors you require pre soldered on for you, main stream conenctors that is like EC5/XT90

Yeah it was like a boring offshore nightshift purchase, this one however was sponsored by Laphroaig!
Where do you buy the HRB batteries from, Aliexpress?

Cheers
