Field charging
« on: January 17, 2020, 12:25:31 PM »
Hi,
I'm looking to join the club this year and fly 550/700 size helis at the field.

Was wondering if the club has a power supply that can be used for field charging?

Best regards
Tom

Yes we have 240v,24v and 12v available at the field. In order to use the generator for charging there is a £10 additional fee on top of the membership.

£85 to join the club, £10 for the charging excess. Membership secretary is Conrad Richmond.

You also need insurance through the SAA/BMFA which you can join through their respective websites. Members are liable to sort the insurance out themselves this year but since itís your first year Conrad may help out.

There is also new rulings that we need to register with the CAA now which is a short online test if you donít hold a flying certificate then line the CAA with £9. Can also be done through the SAA too.

There should be a membership application in the downloads section on the left hand side of this page. Contact details for how to pay are on it. Failing that, turn up at the field and give your money to a committee member and straight to flying

Great, thanks. I already have BMFA ins and registered with the CAA...

I'll probably fill out the forms and turn up at the field one weekend....

Thanks for your help.
