Current motor 3541 kv750 outrunner
« on: July 12, 2021, 07:01:31 PM »
I need a  similar motor to this one as it is out off stock for a fair while and its prop adapter is also  not available.  Nothing wrong with motor,  it's the prop adjuster that is broken.  I have a T3542  / 05  710 Watts but kv 1250.
I haven't got it straight yet what the difference means regards kv. What I think is that it will have less torque and down a bit in power?.  The model has a 45 amp esc.
Any help appreciated, as unless the parts become available, I cant fly the model  which is a FMS super cub 1700 unless I can find an alternative set up

KV number is how many rpm per volt of battery in use. Lower kv will provide more torque but it’s more about matching the kv to the requested output speed.

Your 750kv say it runs on a 3s battery (11.1v nom) would give a rpm of 8325rpm. If you out the same battery into the 1250kv motor you will have a huge jump in rpm to 13875rpm

For example in helis like a 550 size where you can run on 12s or 6s you need to be careful of the kv selection as a 6s motor when run on 12s will provide a hell of a lot of rpm on the head and in all honesty the head would likely depart the airframe pretty quickly.

The other 4 numbers are the motor size. The first two being the diameter and the last two being the height.

Best to wait until August for the correct driver, otherwise if you change motor you will  probably need to change prop and spinner too  and mess with spacers etc  to get correct clearance.

The motor is 750 kv as per the instructions

If you must get a new motor and are using 4s batteries then this is a close equivalent
https://www.4-max.co.uk/po-3541-810.html

But you will need a 2 blade 12 x 6 APCe prop and a two blade spinner.

I'm sure you will find another brand of prop adapter with the same screw pcd. FMS alloy on these kits is like Cheese.
Most Chinese makes share common mounting centres

It’s getting one with the hex drive for the prop. I’ve a selection of adaptors that may fit the motor, but willneed a change of prop and spinner. I’m off to my stash in the garage to search.

Mike, I’ll put them in a poly bag and reave at the field and you can try them out.

Mike I’ve found a few, but of various dimensions. Best if you take the motor and adaptor to the field so we can compare and check dimensions for fit.
Ican take the motor home strip it and check the shaft for straightness on a piece of plate glass.
If you want to do that of course.
